Big 12 Basketball: Predicting who will be First-Team All-Big XII
G-Taurean Prince (Baylor)
Dear Scott Drew,
UNLEASH TAUREAN PRINCE!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Everyone
I’m so high on Taurean Prince right now, that I could convince myself that he will win “Conference Player of the Year”, or at least breakup the top three triumvirate of Niang, Ellis, and Hield.
There’s nothing Prince can’t do on a basketball court. He’s probably Baylor’s best perimeter defender, even if it’s never shown because Scott Drew runs a lot of zone. He can shoot the three ball (38.7% for his career), and he attacks the rim with the athleticism to dunk everything.
The only thing that held Prince back last year was his playing time, only playing just over 26 minutes a game. He got about 28 minutes per game in conference play, and his overall output saw an increase as well, averaging 15.6 points per game. Baylor loses Kenny Chery and Royce O’Neal, two of the players who took the playing time from Prince.
Thus, it’s time for Scott Drew to unleash Taurean Prince.
