Kentucky Basketball: De’Aaron Fox Commits to John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats
The Kentucky Wildcats were able to snatch up the No. 7 recruit according to ESPN and 247 Composite in De’Aaron Fox Thursday night.
Fox declared officially to the Kentucky Wildcats on ESPNU’s Recruiting Nations “National Signing Day Special”.
He is considered the second best point guard prospect of the 2016 class behind North Carolina State point guard commit Dennis Smith.
If there is one thing that we know, the Kentucky Wildcats put point guards in the NBA.
John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, and the Harrison Twins Aaron and Andrew, are just a few names that have been taken from Lexington to the NBA to display their point guard skills.
At 6-foot-4, De’Aaron Fox has been compared to John Wall because of his size and the speed he brings to the floor.
He is left-handed, has incredible springs to the rim, great handle, solid range, and will be able to run the show from the moment that he hits the campus.
Fox gives John Calipari three five-star recruits for his 2016 recruiting class and he is well on his way to getting yet another Top Three ranked recruiting class.
Calipari already has commitments from 6-foot-9 power forward Wenyan Gabriel and 6-foot-10 power forward Sacha Killeya-Jones.
John Calipari can’t help that he has an NBA basketball player factory in Lexington right now. Being able to aid in fulfilling a youngsters NBA dreams is always going to be an attraction to recruits.
Next the Kentucky Wildcats are going to focus their sights on 6-ft.-3 guard Malik Monk.
Somehow the rest of the SEC is going to have to close the gap on Kentucky. Quietly it is happening though. Not quickly, but quietly.
