No. 8 Florida State Seminoles

This is going to be somewhat controversial because admittedly the Florida State Seminoles have not beaten a team that is worth a squat all season.

True Florida State is 6-2 to this point, but what is their biggest win? Ohio U? VCU?

We are going to put the Seminoles in the Top 10 out of respect for what we think they are going to be in the future which is pretty wrong when you can make an argument that Syracuse or Wake Forest could easily occupy this spot.

But look at what the Seminoles are doing statistically to this point. FSU is dropping 85.4 points per contest on their opponents and shooting 48.9% from the field for the season.

The problem for the Seminoles is coming from three-point range where they are shooting 33.8% from beyond the arc.

That is going to be a problem going forward for Florida State because in the ACC you are going to have to knock down the three-ball with some kind of efficiency in order to survive.

Malik Beasley and Dwayne Bacon have played well in the early going of their freshman campaigns. Beasley is leading the Noles’ in scoring at 18.3 points per game with Bacon as the second leading scorer at 15.8 points per contest.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes has seen his assists average go up with these two players in the mix averaging 6.8 dimes per contest to go along with 11.9 points.

In the long run, Florida State is going to be well off because they are finding the time to build chemistry with two of the top freshman in the nation who are actually playing up to their billing.
