  • When he went head up against supposed NBA first rounder Malik Pope, Jakob Poeltl made his presence felt by dropping 15 points and 12 rebounds on him.

In the intrastate rivalry game against BYU when you needed Poeltl to dominate, he did just that finishing with 26 points and 13 rebounds.

At Madison Square Garden which is considered “The Mecca of Basketball” Jakob Poeltl put on a show in New York finishing with 19 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out.

The thing about his outing today is that you truly felt that he could have gone off for 30 if the Utes made it a point to simply feed that man the rock more in the post.

Poeltl only had 11 attempts in the contest which should have easily been 17 to 20.

Utah came away with the win, but Jakob Poeltl’s teammates need to realize that they are playing with one of the most unstoppable players in the college game today.

They simply need to feed Jakob Poeltl more in the block!
