4. Ben Simmons – LSU Tigers

Ben Simmons has played like the top player in the country averaging 19.1 points, 13.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

Though Simmons has been great this year for LSU, the Tigers are only 7-4 to this point which seems to make it look like Simmons is not really making the impact in the win-loss column that was expected.

Regardless of that, you have to feel like the Tigers best basketball is going to be ahead of them with the team getting Keith Hornsby and Craig Victor back in the rotation in the last couple weeks.

Those pieces being inserted into the mix should make the Tigers more competitive overall, and as the team collects wins and gets into the rankings, Ben Simmons will begin to get the needed buzz that he deserves for National Player of the Year.

It is going to be hard to deny Simmons the award with the gaudy, yet needed production that he gives the LSU Tigers game after game.

He has a great chance at being No.1 on this list by the time Spring rolls around.
