What teams shouldn’t you sleep on in the NCAA Basketball Tournament?

Now that it’s March, it’s time for tournament play. There’s a few teams that everyone should be afraid to face.

All teams will probably say the Kansas Jayhawks as the number one seed, and they would be right, but they aren’t a team that any will take lightly. They did, however, end up in the South Region, and shouldn’t have the toughest test in the world.

There is a team that is a number one seed who you should be afraid to see in this tourney. That would be the Ducks of Oregon who everyone is underestimating.

Coming out of the West the Ducks will give everyone else a run for their money. They are big, physical, and no one else is giving them a chance to go anywhere in the Big Dance.

Oregon was able to handle their business in their conference tournament. They were able to beat Utah 88-57

The next team that you shouldn’t sleep on in the NCAA Tournament is the West Virginia Mountaineers. No one is giving them a chance to go past the Sweet 16 in this year’s dance, but they can make it to the Final Four this year.

This is a bold statement, but look at the facts. They have one of the best press defenses in the country, they turn you over, and they get easy points off those turnovers.

They were able to handle Oklahoma in the Big 12 tournament in the semis. Even though the score was closer the it should have been, their trapping is out of this world and completely unpredictable. Not to mention that they were able to make it a game in the Big 12 Finals against number one seed Kansas.

If it wasn’t for a few mistakes made late in the fourth quarter of this game, they would be the Big 12 conference tournament Champions.

No one team will be able to handle their traps and their full court man to man press. All they have to do is limit their mistakes down the stretch in games.

The last team you shouldn’t sleep on is Kentucky. Even with them being a four seed, they feel slighted that they are seeded as low as they are.

The Wildcats feel like they should have been a three, or even a two seed.

Now they have always had good talent, and produce next level talent, but haven’t had the best of regular seasons. They play a tough schedule, and play A+ talent, but seemed to hit a rough spot in the middle of the season.

The reason you shouldn’t take them lightly is that they are an angry team, and no one ever wants to see a team with their talent and playing as angry as they are.

Those are my three teams that you shouldn’t sleep on in this tourney. All three have grade A talent, play great defense, and no one is giving them much of a chance to make a deep run to a Championship.

Between Orgeon, WVU, and Kentucky all three have a chance to make a deep run with the way that they all attack the rim.

If I had to pick one to go the furthest in the Big Dance, that would be Kentucky. There’s too much talent on this team and they are out to prove that they should have been a higher seed.
