5. 1980-81 Virginia Cavaliers

We can all agree that Ralph Sampson was kind of good. But what some forget is how good Jeff Lamp was. Lamp averaged 18 points a game alongside of Sampson and averaged four boards. Sampson and Lamp trampled their enemies.

Like another familiar UVA squad, they made it far but couldn’t finish, this time losing to North Carolina.
