Auburn basketball receives a commitment from four-star 2019 power forward Jared Jones.

Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl strikes again. This time Pearl landed his first commitment in the class of 2019 in big man Jared Jones.

Pearl already has the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation for 2017, and he’s only one week removed from receiving a verbal commitment from five-star 2018 power forward E.J. Montgomery.

Needless to say, he’s setting the recruiting trail on fire.

Jared Jones committed to Auburn early Thursday morning, giving the Tigers a nice head start on their 2019 recruiting class.

Jones, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward from Mableton, Georgia, transferred to Pebblebrook High School this fall for the start of his sophomore season.

Information on Jones is limited at this time, but he’s said to be a good shooter, capable passer and instinctive rebounder, both offensively and defensively.

His 6’9’’, 230-pound frame will only get more refined over the next couple of years and he should offer the Tigers a great post presence once he arrives on campus in the fall of 2019.

Jones is considered a four-star prospect by 247Sports and is ranked number 63 in the site’s Top247.

Pearl and the Tigers have great momentum going into the 2017 season. His current squad should be competitive in the wide-open SEC and he’s already built a strong future for the program with a handful of four and five-star recruits.

Auburn’s recruiting classes are currently ranked first, fourth and fourth over the next three years, respectively. With the hot streak that Pearl is currently riding, and with plenty of uncommitted high school prospects remaining, the future looks bright for the Tigers.
