5. Jim Boeheim (Syracuse)

Career record: 888-347 (74.0%)
Record at Syracuse: 989-347 (74.0%)
NCAA Tournament appearances: 32
Final Fours: 5
National Championships: 1

Jim Boeheim has been the picture of consistency over the last 40 years. His 888 wins are more than any Division I coach in history that’s not named Mike Krzyzewski or Bob Knight.

And even though he hasn’t been as successful in the postseason as some of the other coaches on this list, his five Final Fours and one national title are nothing to scoff at.

Entering the 2016-2017 season, Boeheim and the Orange welcome in Nebraska transfer Andrew White and Providence transfer Paschal Chukwu. Both will play pivotal roles for Syracuse this season; White in the depleted back court and Chukwu at the center position.

Fortunately for Boeheim, talented big man Tyler Lydon returns to Syracuse for his sophomore season. He’s an early favorite to earn All-ACC honors in his encore performance to his impressive freshman campaign.

Boeheim shocked the basketball world last year when he led his team all the way to the Final Four in Houston, knocking off top-seeded Virginia along the way.

With talent on the roster and Boeheim at the helm, it’s tough to bet against Syracuse to win a lot of games and make a run in March.
