5. Louisville Cardinals

2015-16 record: 23-8 overall, 12-6 in ACC, ineligible for postseason

Head coach: Rick Pitino

Returning players: Quentin Snider, Donovan Mitchell, Deng Adel, Raymond Spalding, Anas Mahmoud, Jaylen Johnson, Mangok Mathiang, Matz Stockman,

Notable newcomers: Five-star star F V.J. King, G Tony Hicks (Penn transfer)

Louisville had a heck of a season last year after issuing a self-imposed ban on themselves due to the escort scandal. They would’ve made the NCAA Tournament as high seed had they been eligible to compete.

But now they are without Trey Lewis and Damion Lee. Guard Donovan Mitchell came on strong last year and will be a big part of the team this year, alongside point guard Quentin Snider.

One of the more quiet recruits was V.J. King. The guy has some raw talent to be one of the top freshman in the conference.
