Tim Jankovich should be a candidate for Coach of the Year with how he’s held SMU together after Larry Brown’s departure. The Mustangs recently held off Tulsa on the road to remain solidly alone as the American’s second-best team. Temple on the road looms Thursday.

Sterling Brown lived up to his name against the Golden Hurricane. Brown had 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting in the team’s 76-53 win. Fellow starters Shake Milton and Semi Ojeleye had 19 and 16, respectively. SMU is looking like a solid team come tournament time.
