Big East Basketball: Creighton vs. Seton Hall preview, prediction, TV schedule
By Taylor Sturm
The Creighton Bluejays have an opportunity to push the Villanova Wildcats at the top of the Big East, but they have to get past a trip to face the Seton Hall Pirates first.
TV Schedule: Wednesday, Feb. 15, 8:00 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network
Arena: Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
One of the surprise teams of the 2016-17 college basketball season, the Creighton Bluejays continue to rack up wins and can all but be confirmed as a 2017 NCAA Tournament lock. Just two games behind the Villanova Wildcats for the Big East regular season title, however, there is still work to be done.
Creighton has a favorable schedule to close out the season. Five of their six remaining opponents have losing conference records, and the other opponents is Villanova. If they can get some help from another team defeating the Wildcats, winning out would guarantee them a share of the Big East regular season title.
The Seton Hall Pirates, on the other hand, are fighting for their 2017 NCAA Tournament lives. With games against Creighton, Villanova, the Xavier Musketeers, and Butler Bulldogs remaining, a trip to the Big Dance is not yet out of the question. In order to sneak into the bubble discussion, the Pirates would likely need to win three of these games, avoid losses to the DePaul Blue Demons and Georgetown Hoyas, and win at least one game in the Big East Tournament. It’s a tall task, but crazier things have happened in college basketball.

While I like this Seton Hall team, the Pirates were destroyed by Creighton earlier in the season, 89-75. For the Pirates, Khadeen Carrington had 27 points, Desi Rodriguez had 24, and no one else had more than 10. Every starter for the Bluejays scored in double-digits, and that continues in this one.
Creighton plays an style of basketball that causes many defenses major problems, and they get the win over Seton Hall on Wednesday night.
Prediction: Creighton 86, Seton Hall 78
