The Virginia Tech basketball team is made up of defensive and offensive talent and have all the tools to make a deep run in March.

The Hokies have a record of 19-9 and are 8-7 in ACC play. For a team that hasn’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2007, they are playing some great basketball. It’s particularly impressive for a school that isn’t known for basketball to be competing in a loaded conference.

The Hokies only have eight total NCAA appearances but should be able to break that streak this year. They have an RPI of 36 and are currently predicted to get between an 8 and 10 seed based on several bracketology expert predictions. Six of their eight losses are against teams between the 1-50 RPI ranks.

They can be a little streaky at times and have scored a high of 113 points but have scored as few as 48 on the year. When they play well they can put up a lot of points and are averaging 78.8 points per game on the year, ranking in the top 50 of all teams.

The middle and top of the conference are evenly matched. There could be several teams that tie for the second place spot in the conference and will make the conference tournament extra exciting.
