As conference tournament season approaches, let’s see what seeding changes have gone down in a new Bracketology update following the weekend.

Prior to getting into the updated projected field, the weekend brought plenty of surprises, so here is a look at what happened this weekend to cause the changes in the projected field.

From Saturday:

  • Rhode Island came away with a huge home win over VCU to get them closer to the cutline. Could the A-10 be in line for three bids?
  • Vanderbilt dominated Mississippi State and have entered my projected field for the very first time.
  • Gonzaga suffered their first loss of the season against BYU, but remain a one seed at 29-1.
  • Villanova handled Creighton by 16 points to take the Big East conference title outright.
  • Kansas won against Texas and remains a one seed.
  • UCLA took down Arizona on the road as they rise to the three line.
  • Oregon survived a scare against Stanford, but a win is a win.
  • North Carolina took down Pittsburgh to stay on the one line.
  • Baylor’s loss to Iowa State kept them on the two line, but they are less secure there.
  • Duke dropped their second straight game, as they fall to the four line. Miami rose to the eight line.
  • Kentucky’s win over Florida moved them to the three line and dropped Florida to a four.
  • TCU couldn’t finish off West Virginia and that loss moved them out of the projected field.
  • Michigan’s home win over Purdue proved once again that the Big Ten is very erratic.
  • SMU and Virginia each picked up a win to remain highly seeded.
  • Clemson, like TCU, couldn’t finish off a top team (Florida State) and are OUT of the projected field.
  • Iowa upset Maryland in yet another performance that dictated the unpredictability of the conference.
  • South Carolina put an end to Tennessee’s tournament chances in their 17-point win.
  • Seton Hall hung on against DePaul to stay in the projected field.
  • Oklahoma beat Kansas State by 30, which umm…was not good for K-State’s odds.
  • Northwestern blew a late lead against Indiana and they still need another win to be locked for the field.

From Sunday:

  • Butler handed Xavier another loss as they swept their rival Musketeers.
  • Wisconsin lost for the fourth time in five games as they have plummeted to the seven line.
  • Louisville handled Syracuse to stay on the two line. The ‘Cuse remain OUT.
  • Notre Dame might have officially popped Georgia Tech’s bubble with their win.

All through the projected field, there were all kinds of upsets that went down to shake up the seeding. As a reminder, the weekly Bubble Watch comes out on Wednesday and we will continue to make updates to the projected field up until Selection Sunday, which is just under two weeks away.
