Can the Jayhawks carry their conference play momentum into the Big 12 tournament, or will Kansas fail to repeat as conference tournament champions?

The Big 12 tournament commences on March 8 in Kansas City, Missouri at the Sprint Center. The venue will host nine contests over a four-day span until its concluding game on March 11 (Saturday).

Kansas earned its eleventh straight Big 12 regular season title this season, but that success has not translated over to the conference tournament as of late. In the last five years, Kansas has only won the conference tournament twice, while Iowa State has grabbed two titles over that span.

The bracket and schedule have been set for the Big 12 tournament after its regular season finale this past Saturday. All games will be nationally televised across the ESPN networks. The semifinals will be shown on either ESPN or ESPN2, while the championship will be on ESPN.

Here’s the tournament schedule:

Game 1: No. 8 TCU vs No. 9 Oklahoma (March 8, 7:00 PM/EST)
Game 2: No. 7 Texas Tech vs No. 10 Texas (March 8, 9:00 PM/EST)
Game 3: No. 4 Iowa State vs No. 5 Oklahoma State (March 9, 12:30 PM/EST)
Game 4: No. 1 Kansas vs Game 1 winner (March 9, 2:30 PM/EST)
Game 5: No. 2 West Virginia vs Game 2 winner (March 9, 7:00 PM/EST)
Game 6: No. 3 Baylor vs  #6 Kansas State (March 9, 9:00 PM/EST)
Game 7: Game 3 winner vs Game 4 winner (March 10, 7:00 PM/EST)
Game 8: Game 5 winner vs Game 6 winner (March 10, 9:00 PM/EST)
Game 9: Game 7 winner vs Game 8 winner (March 11, 6:00 PM/EST)

How will teams finish in the Big 12 tournament? Are there sleeper candidates who can potentially win it all? Are there any breakout players in this years’ tournament? I have provided five bold predictions answering those very questions.

Without further ado, let’s begin!
