West Virginia earns its first ever Big 12 Tournament title

How can you bet against “Press Virginia”?

The Mountaineers were handed six losses in the regular season, but won nine of their last twelve games. Along with their momentum, West Virginia has the depth and energy to play, and win, three games in three days.

Against the other top 3 teams in the Big 12, West Virginia is 4-2, showing that they are capable of beating virtually anyone in the league on any given night. The Mountaineers are prone to the upset, however, as five of their seven season losses are to unranked competition. While this will affect them in the quarterfinal against No. 7 Texas Tech/No. 10 Texas, I don’t see how West Virginia will be sent home that early in the tournament.

A Big 12 Tournament win will probably give West Virginia a two or three seed in the NCAA Tournament.
