4. Houston Cougars

The Cougars finished the season winning 8-of-10 with their only losses coming against SMU and Cincinnati. They finished 21-9 overall and 12-6 in conference play to secure the no. 3 seed. They got swept by the top two teams in the AAC but have played well against the rest of the league.

Rob Gray Jr. and Damyean Dotson make a great scoring combo. They can both be a little streaky and the team struggles when one or both are off with their shot. Gray Jr. averages over 20 points per game and Dotson averages 17.1 points per game while leading the team in field goal percentage.

He additionally leads the team in three-pointers made, and both players shot above .800 percent from the free throw line.

The Cougars struggle away from home, but, when they win, they usually get a winning streak going. They will open the AAC Tournament playing either UConn or USF. They are 3-0 against those teams this year.
