This year is no different, as South Carolina and Gonzaga both made their first Final Four, Northwestern qualified for its first NCAA Tournament, and Villanova, Duke, and Louisville all lost in the first weekend.

Perhaps the most memorable moments in the tournament come when one player makes a shot that wins the game for his team. Mario Chalmers, Kris Jenkins, and Christian Laettner have all have been cemented in college basketball history for their late game heroics.

This tournament has not been void of clutch shots either. There have not been many games that were close so far, but the ones that have been were decided by a shot or two. Some shots have gone down, while other shots ended in disappointing misses.

With three games left, including the National Championship, we are sure to witness many more big shots from the remaining teams. Oregon, South Carolina, UNC, and Gonzaga have all had different players step up to make great plays. These four teams will fight until the end to be crowned the best in the NCAA.

The next week will be exciting, but it does not take away from the moments that got us to this point. Many teams are out, but they can each look back on the valiant play of their beloved players.

So let’s take a look at the top five shots of the 2017 NCAA Tournament so far.
