Cedric & K.J. Lawson

Former Program: Memphis Tigers

Eligibility: Both available in 2018-2019

Consider this situation similar to Cody/Caleb Martin transferring from NC State to Nevada as the former Tigers are likely transferring as a package. The Lawsons should be among the most highly sought after players this spring after starring on poor Memphis squad.

Dedric could have been an All-American candidate next year but will take his talents elsewhere for his junior year. The 6’9″, 236-pound twin led the Tigers in scoring with 19.2 points an evening. He also threw in 9.9 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.1 blocks. The only thing the elder Lawson couldn’t do this year was shoot from range, where he hit just 27% of his attempts. The younger K.J. averaged 12.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists as a freshman. He hit a slightly higher percentage of his threes (33%) but only shot roughly two per night.

The Lawsons hail from Memphis, so leaving the school means leaving home. That shouldn’t stop tons of big programs from contacting the duo. Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner originally recruited them to Memphis and could be an early favorite for the brothers.
