Marcus Evans

Former Program: Rice Owls

Eligibility: Available in 2018-2019

Rice’s loss is another program’s huge gain depending on where the First Team All-CUSA guard goes. He is one of the best transfers on the market with his scoring ability.

Marcus Evans had a terrific sophomore year for the Owls with a stat line of 19.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 3.7 apg, and 1.1 spg. His three-point percentage went up (31% to 38%), but his overall percentage fell from 47 to 42. He had nearly 30 fewer steals. Some of that was maybe just a higher focus from opposing defenses or just a tiny sophomore slump. Either way, his new program will get an absolute stud for the 2018-2019 season.

Multiple programs including VCU, Cincinnati, Florida State, and Kansas have already reached out to the Chesapeake, Virginia native. Expect his recruitment to be among the more exciting this spring.
