Reggie Theus had an outstanding playing career, in both college and the pros. The No. 9 draft pick in the 1978 NBA Draft scored 19,015 points and dished out 6,453 assists and grabbed 3,349 rebounds. Theus, a two-time NBA All-Star, played 13 NBA seasons and a few other seasons oversees.

Theus made his coaching debut with the Las Vegas Slam of the ABA in 2002. He moved onto Louisville as an assistant coach before being appointed head coach by New Mexico State in 2005. After going 16-14 in year one, the Aggies went 25-9 and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2006-07.

Theus was hired by the Sacramento Kings and spent a little over a year with the franchise, recording a 44-62 record before getting axed during the 2008-09 season. He moved onto the Minnesota Timberwolves for a few seasons as an assistant and then had a season with the Los Angeles D-Fenders in 2012-13 as head coach.

The 59-year old former actor has been at Cal State Northridge since 2013. His best season with the Matadors was his first when he led them to a 17-18 record and a Big West fifth place finish. He has a 47-81 record with the Matadors.
