20. Jason Gardner, IUPUI Jaguars

Jason Gardner never played in the NBA but spent several seasons overseas.

Gardner started his coaching career following the conclusion of his playing career in 2011. He began as an assistant coach at Loyola (Ill.) Then in 2013, Gardner joined Josh Pastner’s staff at Memphis. After just one season with the Tigers, Gardner obtained the head coaching job at IUPUI. The Jaguars have improved their win total in each of the three seasons under the 36-year old. He has compiled a 37-58 record in three seasons as head coach.
