7. Bucknell over Kansas – 2005

Bucknell entered the game with a 22-9 record and Kansas had a record of 23-6 with a Big 12 title. The Bison were in just their fifth NCAA Tournament and Kansas had won the National Championship five years earlier.

The Jayhawks would go on to send three players to the NBA and the Bison have not won a tournament game since.

The Bison were able to lead Kansas in the last few minutes of the game but the Jayhawks retook the lead with 25 seconds to go. It would set up Bucknell to take a one-point lead with 10 seconds to go.

Kansas had two chances to take the lead and win the game but missed two jump shot opportunities following Bucknell’s free throw opportunities. They had a chance with a free throw line jumper after a full court pass but could not convert and suffered one of the biggest upsets in NCAA basketball history.
