4. Florida Gulf Coast over  Georgetown – 2013

The Eagles were labeled as “Dunk City” and quickly took the basketball world by storm after comfortably beating a Georgetown team that looked ready for a deep tournament run. FGCU won the Atlantic Sun conference tournament, which hadn’t seen a tournament victory in nearly 30 years.

The Eagles came in the tournament with a record of 24-10 and played in their first Division I postseason tournament since becoming eligible in 2012. Georgetown had a record of 25-6 going into the tournament, but looked overwhelmed by the Eagles’ fast and flashy play.

The Eagles cruised to a 10 point victory and went on to the Sweet 16, capping off a memorable first-time tournament appearance.
