Tulsa Basketball: Nebraska’s Horne transfers to Tulsa
Former Nebraska guard opts to transfer to Tulsa basketball and will have to sit out the 2017-18 season.
Nebraska guard Jeriah Horne made it official Thursday when he agreed to join the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

The University made the announcement official Thursday stating Horne, originally from Overland Park, Kan., is the second collegiate transfer to head to Tulsa. Horne joins JuCo transfer and former Oral Roberts recruit DaQuan Jeffries, who committed last fall.
Horne made a solid impression in his freshman season at Nebraska, averaging 4.3 points in 29 games played this season, all coming off the bench.
Horne was one of four Nebraska players to transfer during this offseason, the only freshman to do so.

The other Nebraska transfers were Ed Morrow, Michael Jacobson, and Nick Fuller. Horne is the only one who has made his transfer decision.
The group all transferred after Nebraska struggled this season, finishing with a 12-19 record overall and a 6-12 record in the Big Ten. They missed the NCAA Tournament for a third straight season.
Tulsa picking up Horne will come in handy for them. However, he’ll have to sit out the 2017-18 season because of the NCAA’s transfer eligibility rules.
Horne can play for the team starting with the 2018-19 season and will have three seasons with the program.
Golden Hurricane head coach Frank Haith has kept pretty busy on the recruiting trail as of late. Haith picked up a letter of intent from another guard from Overland Park, Darien Jackson, earlier this month.
Tulsa struggled this season as they finished with a 15-17 record, including 8-10 in the AAC.

Haith hopes this recruiting class that he has put together can really help Tulsa take that next step. They’ll need to, especially now with Wichita State in the conference. Tulsa has made it to the NCAA Tournament once in the three seasons that Haith has served as coach.
