The Oregon Ducks earn a top-10 2017 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star power forward Kenny Wooten.

2017 four-star power forward Kenny Wooten committed and signed to Oregon over Arizona State, Illinois, Kansas, and others. The commitment came on Monday, but Wooten announced on Twitter earlier today he has signed his Letter of Intent to play under Dana Altman next fall. Wooten, according to 247Sports, is the No. 125th ranked player in the senior class, as well as a top-three prospect from the state of Nevada.

Wooten is formerly an Arizona State commit but decommitted from the Sun Devils nearly two weeks ago. He visited Eugene a week ago before deciding on Oregon.

According to ESPN’s scouting report on Wooten, the 6’9″ forward is a “solid rim protector” and rebounds well on the glass. Additionally, he excels in transition. However, the California native lacks a jump hook and face-up skills, two areas he should improve upon to increase his stock.

Wooten took a post-grad year this season at the Trinity International School in Las Vegas, Nevada, as he continues to develop down low.

With the commitment of Wooten, Oregon now has a top-10 2017 class, according to 247Sports. Wooten joins five-star small forward Troy Brown, four-star point guard Victor Bailey, and four-star small forward Abu Kigab as the incoming freshmen to Eugene next fall. While the Ducks are losing a trio of players to the NBA Draft this year, Dana Altman has already found his immediate and long-term answers for those losses.

Oregon’s work is not yet done on the recruiting trail. Five-star center Brandon McCoy, who is expected to announce before the end of the month, listed Oregon is his top five schools that he released in November. The Ducks are the favorite to land him in the 247Sports Crystal Ball with 63 percent of predictors favoring Oregon.
