1. Purdue – Lost 73 – 72

In a back and forth game for many of the final minutes, Maryland and Purdue battled it out from the free-throw line late. Maryland held the Boilermakers to just 38.1 percent, a great accomplishment considering they had the second highest in the Big Ten entering the game.

Melo Trimble scored 22 points, and Damonte Dodd and Michal Cekovsky combined for 10 blocks. Trimble scored 11 of the team’s final 14 points. The six blocks for Cekovsky were a season-high and had he not hurt his foot late in the game he may have had a larger impact.
