Seton Hall Basketball: Pirates add commitment from JUCO Romaro Gill

The Seton Hall Pirates received a commitment from Romaro Gill, who is a seven-foot JUCO center out of Vincennes.

As reported by FanRag Sports’ Jon Rothstein via Twitter, JUCO Center Romaro Gill has committed to the Seton Hall Pirates.

Despite little playing time at Vincennes, the Virgin Islands-born center stands at a massive seven feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. His addition will add a huge body on this roster, and we could immediately see him used as a rim protector in certain game situations.

Last season, Seton Hall finished 21-12 overall with a 10-8 record in Big East play, making it to the 2017 NCAA Tournament. After a rough start to conference play, Seton Hall went on an impressive five-game win streak before losing to the Villanova Wildcats in the Big East Tournament, 55-53. Once in the Big Dance, the Pirates were unfortunately unable to outlast the Arkansas Razorbacks in the first round, losing 77-71.

Next season, the Pirates might lose some key pieces to the NBA Draft but should rebound with a solid season. It’s early, but you should be able to all but guaranteed the Pirates be a lock in the 2017-18 NCAA Tournament.

Seton Hall is one of the most consistent programs in the country year in and year out, especially towards the end of the season. Gill will likely need some time before he is ready to play more than a few minutes per game at the D1 level, but the addition of
