South Florida continued an aggressive push in recruiting transfers with the addition of T.J. Lang from the Auburn Tigers.

The South Florida Bulls continue to add transfers this offseason with the official announcement Thursday that they signed a financial aid agreement with former Auburn Tigers’ forward TJ Lang.

Lang had played three seasons for Auburn before transferring this offseason. He will have to sit out a season before playing his final season of eligibility.

At Auburn, Lang played in 29 games, scoring 4.3 points and grabbing 1.8 rebounds in 16.4 minutes played per game.

He played a lot as a guard at Auburn and will certainly bring his 6-7 size to the guard position at South Florida.

Lang is the son of former Duke player and current Utah Jazz assistant Antonio Lang.

South Florida has been pursuing transfers hard as of late, recently receiving a verbal commitment from Penn State’s Payton Banks.

New Bulls’ coach Brian Gregory has put together a solid recruiting class thus far if you include the verbal commits from the transfers.

As of now, Lang is the only collegiate transfer to have signed with the program.

Whether Gregory adds more to the program, however, remains to be seen.  Challenges lie ahead for Gregory.

The fact is, South Florida has only made three NCAA Tournament appearances ever in program history.

They haven’t made the NCAA Tournament since 2012. Everyone else in the conference is stockpiling talent.

With the addition of Wichita State, South Florida has an even further climb to get to the top of the AAC.

The Bulls hope to have a better season than they did in 2016-17. They finished the season 7-23 overall and 1-17 in conference play.

South Florida fired head coach Orlando Antigua after three seasons on the sidelines midway through the season.

The Bulls have single-digit wins in three straight seasons. Their last double-digit win season came in the 2013-14 season.
