2017 NBA Draft: 5 best fits for Florida State Seminoles’ Jonathan Isaac
By Taylor Sturm
The order for the 2017 NBA Draft has finally been set, but which teams would be the best fit for the Florida State Seminoles’ Jonathan Isaac?
Last season, the Florida State Seminoles surprised most of the college basketball world by going 26-9 and finishing the season at the No. 2 spot in the ACC with a 12-6 conference record and a No. 3 seed in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
A loss to an under-seeded Xavier Musketeers’ squad saw the Seminoles’ shot at winning it all come to an end, but Florida State took a step forward that many, including myself, have expected them to take for a while.
One of the reasons FSU took a step forward has been their ability to consistently recruit talented players. One of these players, Jonathan Isaac, will head off to the NBA after just one year in Tallahassee and is expected to be a top 10 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Isaac was second on the team in scoring with 12 points per game, but also averaged 7.8 rebounds per game, 1.2 steals per game, and 1.5 blocks per game. He’s a 6-10, 210-pound power forward from Naples, FL, and, at just 19 years of age, Isaac has the potential to develop into a special NBA player. While people will point to the near double-double average as a sign of his NBA readiness, Isaac’s best and most underrated ability is definitely his defense.
Here are the five NBA teams that would likely be the best fit for Florida State’s Jonathan Isaac.
