Shamorie Ponds, St. Johns Red Storm

Shamorie Ponds is a great scorer who can put the ball in the hoop from all three levels. The Big East All-Rookie selection set a St. John’s scoring record by averaging 17.7 points a game last season. He also grabbed 4.4 rebounds and dished out 3.1 assists a game. The 6’1″ point guard shot 43.9% from the floor, 37.5% from beyond the arc, and 82.3% from the charity stripe.

Ponds scored in double figures in 30 of the 33 games he appeared in. He produced one double-double and made more than 10 field goals in a game three times. Ponds, who struggled on the defensive end, ranked in the top-10 of the conference in several categories.
