USA Basketball: Hamidou Diallo among current college players trying out for U19 World Cup team
Desmond Bane, TCU
Desmond Bane shot the ball very well in his first season in Forth Worth but was overall kind of inconsistent. The 6’5″ shooting guard averaged 7.1 points while shooting 51.5% from the floor and 38.0% from beyond the arc. He was only 30 of 70 from beyond the arc last season. However, his offensive game is far ahead of his defense.
Bane scored in double figures in four of the Horned Frogs first five games and six double-figure contests in the Horned Frogs 12 early non-conference games. While his minutes decreased during Big 12 play, he only reached double figures three times. Bane did tally 16 points and grabbed five boards in an upset win over Kansas. He also had two-13 point games during TCU’s NIT title run.
Bane did not come highly rated out of Seton Catholic in Richmond, Indiana. 247 Composite was the only scouting service to rate him (two-stars).
