The 2017 NBA Draft is coming soon. Which teams would end up being the best fit for young Gonzaga big man Zach Collins? Will he go in the lottery?

We are very close to the most exciting time in professional basketball; the 2017 NBA Draft is stocked to the brim with talent and has fans from Portland to Miami salivating over the future potential stars.

Gonzaga’s Zach Collins is one of those potential dominators. The 7’0″, 230-pound young man from Las Vegas had an incredible season in Spokane. Collins averaged 10.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in just 17 minutes per game coming off the bench. He is easily one of the more talented big men in contention for the lottery, but isn’t projected as high as Jonathan Isaac or Lauri Markkanen. Plenty of teams would still benefit from Collins’ potential to play both center and power forward in the right situations.

However, Collins is a touch too skinny right now to play the likes of Dwight Howard or Hassan Whiteside. His offense is probably good enough to impact the game immediately, but I don’t know if his build is solid enough to play extensive minutes as a rookie. The counterpoint to Collins’ weight is that most rookies need to hit the gym and pack on the pounds quickly, so his situation isn’t all that unique.

Now, with all that in mind, let us look at the best possible fits for the former Bulldog.
