2017 NBA Draft: Live analysis and tracking rumors, picks, trades for the NBA Draft
Los Angeles Clippers
Record in 2016-17: 51-31 (T-4th in the Western Conference)
Draft picks: 48th overall
Jonathan Givony Projections: No selections made
Lukas Harkins Projections: No selections made
Draft Outlook: Even with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin running the city, the Clippers have been unable to break through in the Western Conference. With the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors running the West, the Clippers are unlikely to make a deep run anytime soon. Also, with the possibility of stars departing soon, the Clippers are getting somewhat close to needing to rebuild, even if they still believe they have another shot at a playoff run while healthy left. Could they make a major draft night splash to snag a first round pick or two with some of the stars that they have?
#48 overall: SG Sindarious Thornwell, South Carolina
An elite scorer and defender in college basketball, this looks like a very fine pick. Thornwell already has NBA size, but will need to be more creative in creating his shot at the NBA level to score well. The Clippers need help on the wing, and Thornwell does that. Grade: B-.
