Draft Outlook: Trusting the Process has gone a long way so far, but it is not done yet. Dario Saric is now with the team and playing well. Joel Embiid, although still missing 51 games due to injury last season, was dominant while on the floor. Ben Simmons was the #1 overall pick last season, but has yet to see the floor. This season, they once again have the #1 pick and will likely use it on Markelle Fultz. If the 76ers can be fully healthy with Fultz, [insert any free agent three-point specializing shooting guard here], Robert Covington, Ben Simmons, and Joel Embiid (Saric off the bench), then things could get interesting in Philadelphia very quickly. Now, let us take a brief moment of silence to thank Sam Hinkie.
#1 overall pick: PG Markelle Fultz, Washington
Joining a core of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, the Process has been trusted. Is the Process ready to step onto the court and succeed? Fultz is an outstanding prospect with the physical tools to play both on the ball and off, which works ideally next to point forward option Ben Simmons. Joel Embiid will also be a fan of his play, especially if he steps up his play on the defensive end of the floor. He is a shifty guard who is incredibly in both the halfcourt and transition. He has outstanding length and he can score from just about anyone. This pick came as no surprise, and it should be graded as such. Grade: A
#25 overall pick: C Anzejs Pasecniks, Gran Canaria
A pick-and-roll center at this point in his career, it is unlikely that Pasecniks will come in and make an immediate impact for the 76ers. They already have a lot of their future set up, but this is a high-reward kind of prospect in a few years. Time will only tell how well this pick works out for The Process. Grade: C+.
#36 overall: PF Jonah Bolden, Radnicki
A high-energy forward who can shoot the three and sky for emphatic dunks, Bolden fits the bill for a rotation player on the 76ers. His versatility will depend on how well he defends at the NBA level, but his offense should translate well to being a bench scorer. Grade: B.
#39 overall: PG Jawun Evans, Oklahoma State
To pair up with #1 overall pick Markelle Fultz at the point guard spot, the 76ers add a player who could have easily gone in the first round. Although undersized, Evans can distribute and score with the best of him. His size will limit him defensively. Grade: B+.
#50 overall: PF Mathias Lessort, Naterre
Another international prospect, the 76ers will need to work with him for a bit before bringing him into important NBA minutes. We are at the point in the draft where some guys might never play significant minutes, but you can always strike gold. Grade: C+
