Phoenix Suns

Record in 2016-17: 24-58 (15th in the Western Conference)

Draft picks: 4th overall, 32nd overall, 54th overall

Jonathan Givony Projections: Josh Jackson (#4), Tony Bradley (#32), Cameron Oliver (#54)

Lukas Harkins Projections: De’Aaron Fox (#4), Alec Peters (#32), Sterling Brown (#54)

Draft Outlook: Devin Booker is on his way to stardom, but the Suns still need a lot of help. Eric Bledsoe is a great piece as a point guard, but is he a part of the future of the team? At #4, there are rumors that the team loves De’Aaron Fox, and if they draft him, they could use Bledsoe in the trade market and get some solid assets, as plenty of teams need a player like Bledsoe. One of Fox, Josh Jackson, or Jayson Tatum will likely be on the board for the Suns, and they will snag whichever one they feel fits their future the best. No matter who they pick, if it is one of those three, it will be hard to really dispute their choice and call it wrong at this point in the draft.

#4 overall: SF Josh Jackson, Kansas

One of the top prospects in the draft because of his tremendous two-way potential, Josh Jackson joins a core led by shooting guard Devin Booker. Jackson is already an incredibly gifted defensive player, and he will slide in nicely on the wing next to Booker. His ability to knock down the three needs some work, but if he figures it out, the Suns have now have two players with obvious star potential. Grade: A.

#32 overall: SG Davon Reed, Miami

Another potential 3-and-D player, Davon Reed could easily be a backup option to both Josh Jackson and Devin Booker. He fits the team needs very well and as an early second round pick, should get some leeway to prove himself. Overall, a solid selection. Grade: B-.

#54 overall: PF Alec Peters, Valparaiso

One of the best players in all of mid-major basketball, Alec Peters deserved to be drafted. He can spread the floor and rebound for his size, but his quickness is what worries NBA teams. He is also much older than other prospects and has mostly maximized his potential. Grade: B-.
