San Antonio Spurs

Record in 2016-17: 61-21 (2nd in the Western Conference)

Draft picks: 29th overall, 59th overall

Jonathan Givony Projections: Terrance Ferguson (#29), Jonathan Jeanne (#59)

Lukas Harkins Projections: Semi Ojeleye (#29), Monte Morris (#59)

Draft Outlook: We all know what will happen here. The Spurs will stay relatively quiet all draft long, and some prospect expected to go in the lottery to early-20s will fall to the Spurs at #29, and we will all say that they got the steal of the draft. That is the Spurs’ way. They will walk away with the highest grade of any team in the draft, even if the majority of NBA fans don’t know the prospect’s name. With Kawhi Leonard at the front of their operation on the court, the Spurs are in great shape, but they will want to add a point guard (more than just Dejounte Murray) who can fill in for Tony Parker, who was injured in the playoffs and is seemingly running out of gas.

#29 overall: SG Derrick White, Colorado

One of the steadily rising players over the last few days, the San Antonio Spurs add this do-it-all combo guard who can be instant rotation player who would fit in with Coach Pop’s system straightaway. The Spurs are all about their chemistry and fit, and White is the right guy for that. The Spurs were able to stay steady at #29, and will still come away with someone the league will look at as a solid pick by San Antonio. Grade: A.

#59 overall: SF Jaron Blossomgame, Clemson
