After receiving a commitment from Kevin Porter Jr., USC basketball has secured their third four-star recruit for the class of 2018, an impressive class so far.

In the past week, the USC Trojans have been all over the recruiting trail, nailing three huge recruits. Starting with four-star power forward J’Raan Brooks, the Trojans added the 75th ranked prospect according to 247Sports.

In addition to Brooks, four days later, the team added Taeshon Cherry, another 6’8″ power forward that is regarded as a four-star recruit by 247Sports. He is the highest ranked player in their recruiting class so far, as he is regarded as a five-star prospect by some sites and the 36th ranked recruit on 247.

Lastly, Kevin Porter announced his commitment to play for the Trojans on July 2nd. At 6’5″, he poses a great threat on the wing as a four-star shooting guard from Seattle. The #2 recruit from Washington, Porter is nationally ranked as the 58th best recruit in the country by 247Sports.

Prior to Porter signing on, both Cherry and Brooks took to Twitter to announce their excitement to be playing together:

With three players already nationally ranked in the top-100, USC can hang its hat on one of the best recruiting classes in the country. There is still room to add recruits to their future roster, and the two of note that they are currently chasing are Bol Bol and Marvin Bagley. If they are able to snag one of those, then the Trojans will easily be in contention for a top-5 recruiting class.

Although there is plenty of time left in recruiting, USC’s class is currently ranked 2nd in the country, just behind Arkansas, who has one five-star recruit, two four-star recruits, and a three-star recruit already signed. Villanova, Michigan State, and Arizona round out the top 2018 recruiting classes based on 247’s rankings.
