The 2017 Legends Classic might not boast any of the elite teams in college basketball, but it will feature four teams that are more than capable of making it to the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

In the 2016 Legends Classic, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Colorado Buffaloes, Texas Longhorns, and Northwestern Wildcats faced off in the opening round with Notre Dame and Northwestern coming out on top. In the championship game, the Fighting Irish defeated the Wildcats 70-66, while in the third-place game Colorado defeated Texas.

The 2017 Legends Classic will feature four programs who all have a legitimate shot at the 2018 NCAA Tournament – the Texas A&M Aggies, Penn State Nittany Lions, Pittsburgh Panthers, and Oklahoma State Cowboys.

In the first game on November 20, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State will face off at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2 and will be followed by Penn State versus Pittsburgh at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN3. The winners will face off on November 21 at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2, while the losers will play earlier in the afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on ESPNU.

In all honesty, it’s a shame that Texas A&M and Oklahoma State face off in the first game because they are probably the two best teams in the tournament. I expect whoever wins that game to win it all, while the loser will win the third-place game. I’ll give the edge to Texas A&M for now, as the Aggies are one of the most underrated teams in the country.

I’ll give the edge to Texas A&M for now, as the Aggies are one of the most underrated teams in the country, but don’t sleep on Oklahoma State this season.
