WCC Basketball: Way-Too-Early West Coast Conference power rankings

The Second Tier
4) Brigham Young Cougars
Despite the losses of other teams in the WCC, BYU suffered perhaps the most significant individual loss when Eric Mika decided to go pro. With the loss of Mika and fellow big man Corbin Kaufusi, sophomore Yoeli Childs will need other players to step up behind him.
BYU has a solid backcourt, with Nick Emery, TJ Haws, and Elijah Bryant providing plenty of scoring. The returns of Dalton Nixon and Zac Seljaas will give the Cougars depth at the wing, which was missing last season.
3) San Francisco Dons
Entering his second year as the head coach for the San Francisco Dons, Kyle Smith will have quite a bit of talent to work with. Despite losing leading scorer Ronnie Boyce, the Dons return every other significant player from last season’s roster.
Chase Foster, the only senior on the roster, should be pegged as the leader of a team that likes to spread the workload out evenly. The biggest addition to the team is JUCO transfer Erik Poulsen, who should provide much-needed depth down low.
