Seton Hall

It feels like the Pirates are often overlooked in the Big East these days, but they’ve very quietly won 46 games in the past two seasons.

A big part of that success has been Khadeen Carrington and Angel Delgado, who have both been giving Seton Hall at least 25 minutes per game since they were freshmen. Now, they’re all grown up. Carrington averaged 17.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists as a junior a season ago, and Delgado went for more than 15 points and 13 rebounds per game.

If that wasn’t enough, senior Desi Rodriguez and sophomore Myles Powell are both back and scored 15.7 and 10.7 a game, respectively.

Seton Hall is going to be scary this year; don’t say I didn’t warn you when they end up in the top 10 at one point this year.

Butler

When you go 25-9, make the Sweet 16, and have a guy like Kelan Martin coming back, you have to stay close to the top of the Big East rankings.

Speaking of Kelan Martin, why is he not a household name? He averaged 16 points and 5.8 rebounds a season ago and was the Bulldogs’ leader. We can presume it’ll be more of the same this season.

Martin has some help coming back, too. The No. 3 scorer from last season’s team, Kamar Baldwin (great name), is also returning. If Baldwin can take his game up a notch from his freshman year to sophomore year, he and Martin could be a one-two punch that rivals Bluiett and Macura.
