NCAAW Basketball: Which schools hired new coaches for 2017-18?

List of coaching changes (continued)

Towson Tigers: Diane Richardson takes over the Tigers following the resignation of Niki Reed Gekeler, who was 43-80 in four seasons. Richardson has been an assistant college coach for 16 years.

UNC Wilmington Seahawks: Karen Barefoot, who has successfully built four programs, is the 11th head coach in Seahawks’ history. Barefoot left Old Dominion, where she was 103-93, to join the UNCW family. She also has head coaching stints at  Elon, Leonor-Rhyne ( D-II) and The Apprentice School.

Florida Atlantic Owls: In one of the best hires of the offseason. Florida Atlantic selected former Dayton coach Jim Jabir to lead the program. Jabir, who stepped down at Dayton prior to last season, compiled a 238-140 in 13 years with the Flyers. He is 458-363 over 29 years as a head coach.

Marshall Thundering Herd: The Thundering Herd promoted to associate head coach Tony Kemper to the first chair following Matt Daniel’s departure from the school due to family reasons.

Old Dominion Monarchs: Ex-Tennessee and WNBA Star Nikki McCray gets her first crack as a head coach for the Monarchs. The 45-year-old had been an assistant at South Carolina since 2008.

UTEP Miners: Kevin Baker was named the eighth women’s basketball coach at UTEP on April 24. Baker was previously at D-II Angelo State where he went 50-14 in two seasons. Overall, he has compiled 122-30 record as a collegiate head coach.
