Miami Hurricanes

The Hurricanes under Jim Larranaga have had a lot of good years and have produced some very good talent.  A perennial tournament team, the Hurricanes always have a roster that is easy to build around.  Securing one of the best freshmen in the class is helpful for making a deep run in the tournament.

Lonnie Walker: This McDonald’s All American is equipped with a natural basketball body.  He has long arms and broad shoulders. Lonnie is a quality finisher around the basket and is at his best when he is being aggressive and creating his own offense. In high school, he was a streaky shooter, but has great mechanics on his shot and should be able to be a consistent producer.  He should develop into a very good basketball player, who excels at both ends of the court.

NC State Wolfpack

The Wolfpack are working on trying to pick up the pieces of their program after Mark Gottfried had a tough year. Now, Dennis Smith Jr. is gone, Mark Gottfried is gone, and Kevin Keatts has taken over.  With only one incoming freshman this year, Coach Keatts hopes he can make an immediate impact and help NC State return to the NCAA tournament

Lavar Batts: Batts is an excellent passer.  He is also an excellent playmaker and should be able to use his athleticism to finish at the rim.  Lavar likes to have highlight reel dunks as well. Lavar is not a very rangy shooter, but he should be able to make up for it by attacking the rim with ease.
