The Battle 4 Atlantis tournament brings out some of the best matchups of the nonconference portion of the NCAA basketball season.

Since its inception in 2011, the Battle 4 Atlantis has been one of the best college basketball tournaments of the season. Held in the Bahamas, the tournament attracts some of the best programs in the entire country. With prior victors like Duke, Villanova, and Wisconsin, the tournament is known to have played host to some outstanding teams.

For the 2017 edition of the tournament, the Battler 4 Atlantis features the following teams: Villanova, Arizona, Purdue, NC State, Tennessee, SMU, Western Kentucky, and Northern Iowa.

It is a 12-game tournament that takes place in just three days in the week of Thanksgiving and is a spectacle in an extremely small gymnasium. The Imperial Arena is a ballroom-turned-ballcourt and seats just 3,500 fans.

Although the 2017 season is still yet to get going, the competitors for the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis has been released, per Jon Rothstein.

Looking into the teams, there are once again several top programs boasting plenty of NCAA Tournament appearances and spots in numerous Final Fours. The schedule and matchups are yet to be released, but this article will be updated as more information is uncovered.

Now, let’s take a look at each team in the tournament, their history, and what might be around for the 2018-19 season.
