UConn Basketball’s Terry Larrier, the future NBA draft pick who tore his ACL last season, no longer has any restrictions heading into 2017-18.

Talented Connecticut Huskies’ player Terry Larrier no longer has any restrictions after tearing his ACL last season and could be one of the most underrated players in college basketball heading into 2017-18.

The 6’7, 200-pound small forward was a four-star recruit coming out of high school in the Bronx and was one of the many talented players who found themselves going elsewhere after the departure of then-VCU Rams’ head coach Shaka Smart and the arrival of Will Wade from Chattanooga.

After his decision to transfer to UConn, he had to sit out a season due to transfer rules, but the hype began to grow surrounding Larrier and his enormous basketball potential.

Heading into the 2016-17 season, many expected Larrier to explode onto the college basketball scene. In fact, Larrier was named to the Julius Erving Award watch list (the nation’s best small forward) and was tagged by some to be a first-round 2017 NBA Draft pick.

Unfortunately, the talented prospect tore his ACL against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Maui Jim Invitational in November.

The Huskies never really got over the injury, as they limped to a fifth place finish in the American Athletic Conference and a 16-17 overall record.

However, the return of Larrier is good news for a Huskies’ side that should be able to take a step forward in the AAC next season. Wichita State’s addition puts them at the top of the conference almost immediately, but, behind them, anything could happen in 2017-18.

Next: Who is the star player on every AAC team in 2017-18?

Watch for Larrier to have a solid season and, if he doesn’t become a player that is nationally known now, he will when he makes his way to the NBA in the near future.
