The Nebraska Cornhuskers head into the 2017-18 season with tempered expectations, but can they surprise those with doubts about the team?

Projected Starters

Issac Copeland is a mid-year transfer. If he doesn’t get his waiver approved by the NCAA then he will be eligible to play after the end of the fall semester in December.

Jordy Tshimanga – Sophomore

Jordy made huge strides at the end of last year. The game started to slow down, and he showed the potential to dominate down in the low post. Jordy should take huge strides this year and really help this Nebraska offense.

Isaiah Roby – Sophomore

Roby is an athletic player who can rebound, finish at the rim, and shoot from beyond the arc. Roby is a great rim protector and good rebounder. He put on some much-needed muscle in the offseason. Roby could be a special player in Lincoln, and, if he lives up to his potential, the Huskers should have another name in their rafters.

Jack McVeigh- Junior

The Australian sharpshooter is on the floor to rebound and take and make three pointers. He struggled early on last year to consistently find his shot. Once he finds it, he can be as deadly as they come from beyond the arc and, when he is on, he really changes the dynamic of the Huskers’ offense.

Evan Taylor – Senior

The Junior College transfer made an immediate impact last year. Evan is not always a consistent scorer but he brings intensity and defense to the team. He really started to come on at the end of last year. Coach Miles hopes he continues that surge into the start of this campaign. Any offense he gives the Huskers will be a boost.

Glynn Watson – Junior

The most experienced player on this team is going to be asked to be the floor general. The offense is going to run through Glynn. Glynn can score with the best of them, and he also is a really good passer. He is my favorite player to watch on this team because everything he does pops off the screen and he makes the spectators take notice. Another player who could potentially have his name in the rafters
