The MTSU Blue Raiders continue to pick up commitments for the Class of 2018, as three-star recruit Tye Fagan commits to the program.

The Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders might have been the Cinderella team in the NCAA Tournament over the past few seasons, but Kermit Davis’s MTSU has been one of the better mid-major programs in the country for years.

The upset victories over the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Michigan State Spartans were merely a culmination of extended success, and it is what we should expect from the team in the future – even when stars like Giddy Potts are gone.

Davis continues to bring in talented transfers and recruits, earning a commitment from three-star Class of 2018 shooting guard Tye Fagan on September 12.

Fagan, who hails from Thomaston, Georgia, is rated as the No. 300 player in the Class of 2018 by 247 Sports. The 6’3, 175-pound shooting guard will be one to keep an eye on in the future, as he should find himself with a lot of playing time early on for the Blue Raiders.

The Blue Raiders have already received a commitment from three-star recruit K.J. Buffen, who committed to the program last week. The addition of Fagan and Buffen to this program in 2018 will help “rebuild” a team that loses many of its star players from over the years.

That being said, rebuilding might not be the right word to use for MSTU, as Davis and Co. tend to reload as one of the top programs in C-USA.

Expect a big season from the Blue Raiders in 2017-18 once again, and, with the arrival of players like Fagan and Buffen, the future looks bright.
