Big 12 basketball is loaded with quality players. Who is the star player on each team and what will be his impact during this upcoming season?

The Big 12 conference has been an absolute gauntlet over the past few years, as there are no easy games. Even last season, teams like Oklahoma and Texas had down seasons but were still given respectable ratings by advanced metrics like KenPom.

The league has also produced many star players over the past few seasons who have gone on to make an impact in the NBA. Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins, Marcus Smart, Buddy Hield, and Myles Turner are just a few that come to mind from recent seasons. If you go further back into Big 12 history, you can include former and current NBA All-Stars like Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce, and LaMarcus Aldridge. The list goes on and on and there are too many great players to name.

This season, the Big 12 will be going through a changing of the guard among their star players. Guys like Frank Mason, Josh Jackson, Jawun Evans, Johnathan Motley, Monte Morris, Wesley Iwundu, and Jarrett Allen are off to the NBA, but there is a new group of talented players who are poised to replace them.

Like every season, the Big 12 is loaded with a mix of potential NBA draftees and potential college stars. The conference will make a huge impact nationally since as many as seven teams will be in serious contention for the NCAA Tournament.

This article will highlight the best player on each team and analyze his impact for the upcoming season. Even though a team like Kansas could have multiple stars, only one player was included per team. Some teams, like Baylor, TCU, and Kansas State, were difficult to decide who was the best player on the team, while other teams like Oklahoma State and West Virginia were more straightforward.
