Class of 2018 recruit Amir Harris and decided to commit to play college basketball for the Rhode Island Rams.

The Rhode Island Rams are a team that always seems to either be in the midst of rebuilding or on the cusp of making a push for the NCAA Tournament. Currently, they just came off a solid NCAA Tournament showing and are bringing back a lot of talent.

Heading into 2017-18, however, they are also definitely a team with an eye on rebuilding for the future, as their roster is littered with talent and they are still going hard after recruits.

Adding to the future of the Rams, Dan Hurley has received a commitment from Class of 2018 combo-guard Amir Harris. This was first reported by Adam Zagoria and then subsequently confirmed by multiple outlets.

The 6’4, 170-pound unranked recruit is considered a two-star prospect by Verbal Commits but brings with him the ability to play multiple positions and contribute on the offensive end.

Harris also received offers from Delaware and Temple before choosing Rhode Island.

The Rams, who have had few down seasons of late, are expected to be one of the better teams in the A-10 once again next season. However, the youth on this team will make Rhode Island fun to watch and, more importantly, offer a glimpse into what is yet to come for this program.

This year will be fun, but the addition of four-year, versatile players like Harris will likely pay off in a big way in the long run.
