Missouri Valley Basketball: Predicting stars for each team in 2017-18
Loyola-Chicago Ramblers – Donte Ingram
One of the more intriguing teams to look at in the Missouri Valley next season, the Ramblers come in with a mix of good and bad news. The bad news is that leading scorer Milton Doyle will be taking his 15 points a night with him to new adventures. Good news is three other double-digit scorers will return next year.
The second-best scoring offense will have guards Aundre Jackson and Clayton Custer, whose combined 25 points a game will help form one of the more dangerous guard lines in the conference. The difference between another middle place finish and a chance at a conference title could come with senior big man Dante Ingram.
Ingram did his part in the scoring category, contributing 13 a night. His impact was on the boards, though, averaging 6.8 a night, which was third in the conference. With a consistent backcourt to help him out, he could flourish this upcoming season, giving Loyola an opportunity to make history.
Over the last decade along with the Shockers, most of the other programs have had an opportunity to shine on a national stage. The Ramblers haven’t been one of them. This upcoming season will be the best chance in a long time to make some noise themselves.
